This study opens a new avenue for studying Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathies in a human context, providing insight into a hitherto rare topic. Moreover, it serves as a platform to study possible therapeutic intervention, and although further study is required before clinical translation, the data serves as a proof-of-concept for the use of genetic therapy in the setting of WWOX mutations.
